I've been using Benzoyl Peroxide 5% AQ Gel for a few months now to treat my acne, and while it's been effective, I've also experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. The gel works by killing the bacteria that cause acne and helping to unclog pores, but it can also cause some irritation. I've noticed a bit of burning and stinging at the application site, along with some dryness. These symptoms are mentioned in the list of possible side effects, but I was still caught off guard by how noticeable they were. I've been using it for a while and haven't had any major issues. Just a bit of dryness, but it goes away after a few days. My acne has definitely improved, though.

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. Swelling, trouble breathing, the whole nine yards. I went to the ER and they told me it was a severe allergic reaction. Never using it again.

I started using a moisturizer after applying the gel, and it has helped a lot with the dryness and irritation. Definitely worth a try if you're dealing with those side effects.
