Has anyone here used Benzoyl Peroxide 5% Gel for acne? I've been struggling with acne for a while and decided to give this a try. I've heard it can be quite effective but also causes a lot of skin irritation. What has your experience been like? Any tips for minimizing side effects? Has anyone had any serious reactions? I switched from the gel to the cream because my skin was too sensitive and it was a game changer. The cream felt less harsh on my skin.
It can be pretty drying, so I make sure to moisturize well afterwards. Definitely worth it though, my skin has cleared up a lot. Just be patient, it takes a few weeks to see real results.

I just started using it. It’s too soon to tell if it’s making a difference, but I’ll keep at it.
I found that using a gentle cleanser and applying the gel every other night helped a lot with the irritation. It's not a miracle cure, but it's definitely helped.
I've been using Benzoyl Peroxide 5% Gel for a couple of months now, and it's helped a lot with my acne.
I had an allergic reaction to it and had to go to the doctor. My face was red and swelling and it was really scary.
I had a really bad reaction to it. My skin got really red and started peeling. I had to stop using it. Definitely consult a doctor if you experience anything like that.
I think the key is to start with a lower concentration and gradually build up to the 5% if you need to. That way your skin has time to adjust. Also, using a light moisturizer helped me out a lot.
