Planning a trip to Rome and need a place to stay? The Rome2rio Hotels page has a ton of options listed, but it can be overwhelming! I've used them a few times but never sure if I find the best deals, or if I am missing out on hidden gems. What are your tips for navigating Rome2rio to find the best hotel for your budget? Or is there a better site for finding accommodations in Rome? I'd love to hear personal experiences, hotel recommendations, and any tips for getting the best deal where you can book other activities as well.

I'd recommend trying out the Ponte Sant'Angelo area – it's quieter but still close to everything. You want to be in a place where the locals are. There are tons of great little shops and places to eat. Also, check out the 'Deals' section on Rome2rio – sometimes you can find last-minute discounts that are hard to beat. The longer you wait to book the worse they get, so try and book early.

I just returned from Rome. I booked a hotel through Rome2rio and the deal was straightforward, but I've heard good things about using Google Maps to find places to stay. Just search for hotels in the area you want to be in and sort the results by price. It shows you exactly where places are and you can see reviews on Maps or Google itself. It's saved me in plenty of cities.

I'm a huge fan of Rome2rio but I can vouch for the fact that the hotel reviews and user feedback are the most important part of the site. It's worth spending time to read the reviews carefully. I found a gem of a place in Piazza di Spagna that was way cheaper than most of the surrounding hotels and had amazing views. It was an incredible experience, I'd highly recommend it.

Have you tried out any of the B&Bs in Rome? I stayed in an apartment in Trastevere and loved it. It was clean, cozy, and the host was super helpful with local tips. Plus, it was way cheaper than a hotel! Definitely worth considering. Also, be sure to book your Roma Pass through Rome2rio, it's definitely worth it for some of the major attractions.

Rome2rio's hotel search has improved a lot over the years. I recently used them to find a place near the Vatican and it was a breeze. The filters for price, ratings, and amenities are really useful. Also, don't forget to check out the 'Things to Do' section – it's got some great recommendations for local experiences. However, I had some issues with some of the local hotel partners — just be careful of what you're booking

Agreed, location is key in Rome. I stayed at the Hotel Palatino near the Colosseum and it was perfect. Close to all the major sites, great food nearby, and the staff was super friendly. Just make sure to read the reviews carefully – some hotels look nice but the service can be hit or miss. Travel sites can be misleading.

Rome2rio is great for planning travel but I’ve had mixed experiences with their hotel suggestions. Last time, I stayed at a place that was super basic and not worth the price. I prefer using Booking.com for better deals and more variety. The Map feature makes it easy to find places near top attractions.

I’ve had great experiences with Rome2rio but you need to do your research before booking. The 'Hotels Near Rome' search brings up some really nice options, but you need to read the reviews carefully. I got a fantastic deal on a place near Piazza Venezia, and the hotel had a rooftop terrace with an amazing view. Best way to experience Rome!

I always use Rome2rio when I travel to Rome. My go-to is the Hotel Lancelot in Piazza Navona - it's a bit pricy, but the location is unbeatable. If you're looking for cheaper options, try Airbnb. Rome is full of hidden gems.

I wish I could find better Airbnb or VRBO options on Rome2rio. I'm always looking for a deal. Their website is intuitive but I prefer using direct sites for booking lodging because they're more transparent.
