I was prescribed Betamethasone Dip Aug 0.05% Ointment for my severe psoriasis and it's been a game-changer but there were some scary side effects. I've been applying it for about a month now, and while it's significantly reduced the redness, itching, and swelling, I've noticed some side effects. Has anyone else experienced anything unusual with this med? I've got dry skin and burning sensations, but nothing too severe yet. It's a strong steroid, so I knew there could be side effects, but does anyone know more about the urgent side effects like allergic reactions, weak adrenal glands, or Cushing's syndrome? I'm really worried about those. I had to stop the anti-inflammatory meds I was taking a few months ago so I'm not sure which issues are caused by this new medication! Anyway, I've been diligently applying it as prescribed, but I'm wondering if anyone has tips for mitigating the dryness and burning. Also, has anyone heard if this can cause permanent skin damage or thinning?

This steroid is amazing for my eczema, but I'm paranoid about side effects. Dry skin is bad, and I don't want to deal with the other stuff listed. Anyone else nervous about allergic reactions?

I had a weird reaction where my skin got really dry and started peeling. It was terrifying. I've heard it's dangerous to stop just like that, but I let my doctor know quickly and he switched me to something else. It turns out what I was experiencing was an allergic reaction, so be careful and if you notice any weird symptoms, it's a good idea to get to a doctor ASAP. Seriously, if you notice any serious side effects or other symptoms, contact your doctor or seek medical attention immediately.

I didn't know it could cause high blood sugar. That's scary stuff.

I wish my doctor had warned me about all these side effects. I stopped this med a few months back due to skin irritation, but I've heard it's dangerous to stop just like that, but I was getting headaches and some of the other signs of Cushing or weakened adrenal gland. I was pretty upset about the whole situation, and a friend suggested I might be having a reaction to it. I've had bad reactions to other drugs before, but this was even worse. I've had to stop a few other meds for the same. I'm not sure what to do now. I'm not sure I can do a report, but I think I'll try to talk to the FDAs hotline to see if it's worth it. I'm not sure what else to do, and I've got all this stuff to worry about!

Just started this last week. Fingers crossed I don't get any side effects
