I've been prescribed Bupropion XL 150mg for both depression and to help quit smoking. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What are the potential side effects and how severe were they? Should I be worried about any long-term side effects? Can you share your experience on the effectiveness of Bupropion, particularly in treating depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? What are some tips for managing side effects? I've read about some serious side effects, like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, high blood pressure, and changes in behavior. How common are these, and what should I do if I experience them? Do I need to plan for any regular checkups, like eye exams?

Bupropion XL helped me quit smoking but gave me some pretty intense side effects at first.

I've been on Bupropion XL for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my depression. The side effects were a bit tough at first, but they're manageable. For example, I felt dizzy and had some headaches in the first week, but they went away. I was also sweating a lot more. I went to the gym one day and I was sweating like a pig. But now it's totally worth it.

I experienced some weird dreams and trouble sleeping at first, but it got better over time.

I had a weird experience where I would see things that weren't there. I thought I was losing my mind. Turns out it was just the medicine, but yeah, definitely something to look out for. As for me, after quitting smoking, I got more anxious and constipated. But, overall, it was worth it.

Bupropion XL can affect your blood pressure, so it's important to monitor it regularly. Also, if you experience any changes in your vision or hearing, like ringing in the ears, let your doctor know right away. And, yeah, I've had trouble sleeping. But hey, at least it's helping with the depression.

I started taking it for SAD only to find out that my doctor had it wrong. I don’t have SAD. I have depression. Bupropion XL is working though.

I never thought Bupropion XL would make me, you know, hot. I went to the doctor after a week because I was sweating like a dog. The doctor laughed, said it was the medicine. Explained how the medicine works on chemicals in the brain, like norepinephrine and dopamine. I didn't feel it was doing anything for me, so I quit taking it. Didn't stop smoking or anything. If you're considering it, just know that if you're nervous or excitable, it's because of the medication.

For those worried about side effects, remember that many people don't experience any or only have mild ones. Talk to your doctor if something bothers you. I went back and forth with my doctor to figure out the best daily schedule. I split the dose and took some during the day and some in the evening. But now I'm doing the whole dose in the morning.
