I've been prescribed Buspirone 10mg Tablets for my anxiety. I know it's not a benzodiazepine, so I won't get sedated, but I'm curious about how long it will take to work effectively. The side effects list is concerning, but the doctor said they are rare. Has anyone else taken this? How long did it take to feel better? What were your side effects like? Any tips for managing them? I'm a bit nervous, but I want to give it a try.

My take might be controversial, but I prefer benzos for quick relief, It could be dangerous if you're taking multiple meds that effect serotonin levels, so be careful.

Buspirone saved me during a bad anxiety spell. It doesn't work for everyone, and it sure as hell isn't a quick fix, but it's worth the wait. The biggest downside is the wait time and the potential for serotonin syndrome.

I've been on Buspirone for about 3 months now. It took around 2-3 weeks to start feeling the effects, but it was worth the wait. I don't get the same sedation I did with benzos, so I can function normally. The side effects were minimal; I had a bit of dizziness at first, but it went away quickly.

This medication is a non-sedating anxiolytic, so I definitely recommend it for anxiety. It's not addictive, unlike other medications, so it's a great option if you can get past the long onset time.
