I recently started using Cabenuva for my HIV treatment. It's a long-acting injectable medicine that combines cabotegravir and rilpivirine. The initial oral lead-in period was a bit tough, but the monthly injections have been a breeze so far. Has anyone else switched to Cabenuva? What's your experience been like? I'm curious about the side effects and how well it's working for others. Also, how do you handle the lead-in period? Any tips would be appreciated!

The lead-in period was tough. I had some nausea and trouble sleeping, but it got better after the first month. I'm glad I stuck with it because the injections are so convenient now.

The pain at the injection site can be pretty intense, but it's manageable. I use a heating pad and take some ibuprofen, and it helps a lot. I also wear a compression bandage around the site after the injection.

I had swelling at the injection site. I noticed a hard mass after a couple of weeks. The doctor said it was normal - the body's reaction to the medication. It resolved on its own.

I've been on Cabenuva for about six months now, and it's been a game changer. The injections are easy to manage, and I haven't had any major side effects. Just a bit of soreness at the injection site, but nothing I can't handle.

No way I'd do monthly injections. I'd stick with the pills if that's what it takes for me to manage my health. After all, they are only once a month, right?
