I've recently been prescribed Calcitonin 200iu/ml Inj 2ml for managing high calcium levels and Paget's disease. It's a man-made version of a natural hormone that helps control calcium levels in the body by slowing down bone breakdown and aiding the kidneys in removing excess calcium. I'm curious about others' experiences with this medication. Has anyone found it effective for these conditions? What about side effects? The possible side effects list is quite long, and it's got me a bit concerned. I'm particularly worried about the rare but serious side effects, like allergic reactions and low calcium levels. How common are these really? Any advice on managing the more common side effects, like flushing or upset stomach? I'm also wondering if anyone has tips on how to report side effects effectively to the FDA or their doctor. Let's share our experiences and support each other through this treatment journey.

Honestly, I wish I'd started this medication sooner. It's made such a difference in my quality of life. The side effects are manageable, and the benefits are huge.

I had a rough start with Calcitonin. I experienced some muscle cramps and tingling, which was pretty uncomfortable. Turns out, my calcium levels were dropping a bit too low. My doctor adjusted the dosage, and now I'm doing much better. Just remember, everyone's body reacts differently, so communication with your doctor is key.

Anyone else find it weird that this stuff is made from salmon? I mean, it's effective, but still.

I've been on Calcitonin for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my Paget's disease. My calcium levels have stabilized, and I've seen significant improvement in my bone health. As for side effects, I've mostly experienced some flushing and mild stomach upset, but nothing too severe. Just make sure to stay hydrated and eat light meals around your injection time.

Be prepared for the injections. They can be a bit painful if you're not used to them. I found that using a numbing cream at the injection site helped a lot. Also, rotating sites can prevent irritation and discomfort.

I was really worried about the allergic reactions, but I haven't had any issues so far. Just be vigilant and know the signs. My doctor gave me a list of what to look out for, and I keep it handy just in case.

I've had some chest pain a few times after the injection. Thankfully, I read the side effects list and knew to call my doctor right away. Turns out, it was just a bit of anxiety, but better safe than sorry! Always err on the side of caution and get checked out.
