I've been taking Calcium Citrate 200mg Tablets for a few months now to help with my osteoporosis. I wanted to share my experience and gather some thoughts. I feel like it's been helping my bones, but I've had some mild side effects like stomach pain and constipation, which can be a bit rough. I know there are some serious side effects too, so I wanted to make sure it was worth it. Like it’s important to know the risks with any medication, so that’s why I wanted to start this thread. I’m curious about other people’s experiences and advice, especially regarding the side effects and how to manage them.

I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with high calcium levels. It's scary stuff, so definitely don't overdo it and always consult a doctor.

Seriously, if you experience any allergic reactions like hives etc immediately discontinue use and call your doctor. It's not worth the risk.

For me, the benefits have outweighed the side effects. I've seen improvements in my bone density, and that's worth a bit of discomfort. But definitely keep an eye out for any serious side effects and talk to your doctor.

Does anyone know if these are safe to take long-term? I've been on them for a year now and don't want to stop, but I'm worried about the long-term effects.

Make sure you're getting enough Vitamin D too! It helps with the absorption of calcium. You can get it from sunlight or supplements. For me, a daily D supplement has been a game-changer. Also, make sure you're getting enough milk and dairy because they have a ton of calcium. Maybe some yogurt too, I love yogurt!

I've been on Calcium Citrate for a while now, and honestly, it's been a lifesaver for my bone health. I had to switch from calcium carbonate because of stomach issues, and this has been much gentler. Plus, it absorbs better on an empty stomach. Because it's less likely to cause stomach upset, it’s worth considering if you have issues with other calcium supplements.

I've read that taking magnesium can help with the constipation. Might be worth a try if you're struggling with it.

Has anyone else experienced a decrease in appetite? I've noticed mine has gone down a bit since starting these.

I think it's important to take these with food to avoid stomach issues. I take mine with breakfast and lunch, and it seems to help a lot. Plus, it ensures you're getting some calcium with meals. And it’s good to stretch out your doses instead of taking them all at once.

I've been taking these for years and haven't had any serious issues apart from the occasional constipation. Drinking lots of water and increasing my fiber intake has helped a lot.
