I recently started using Calmol-4 Suppositories for hemorrhoid relief, and I have to say, the zinc oxide barrier they form has been a game-changer. The suppositories contain zinc oxide, which is a skin protectant. It works by forming a protective barrier over the irritated skin in the rectal area, helping to soothe discomfort, itching, and burning associated with hemorrhoids and other rectal irritations. It also has a mild drying effect, which helps to reduce swelling and redness. Has anyone else tried these? I'm curious to hear about other people's experiences and whether they've had any side effects. If you experience any of the following symptoms, contact your doctor or seek medical help right away: signs of an allergic reaction, such as: rash, hives, itching, red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever, wheezing, tightness in the chest or throat, trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking, unusual hoarseness, and swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. I used to rely on creams, but these suppositories are more effective for me.

Anything that helps with the itching and burning is worth a shot in my book. I'm definitely going to give these a try.

I had a severe allergic reaction to these. I broke out in hives and my throat started to swell. Scary stuff, so be careful!

I've been using Calmol-4 for a while now, and it's been a lifesaver. The drying effect really helps with the itchiness. But I did have a weird reaction at first and had a rash, but it went away so I kept going. Will ask about the rash next time though.

Zinc oxide is a great active ingredient, but it can cause constipation as a side effect, so be aware of that.
