Calphron Tablets are a crucial medication for many people with kidney disease, especially those on dialysis. By binding to the phosphate in food, it helps prevent the body from absorbing too much, thereby maintaining bone health. However, like any medication, it comes with potential side effects ranging from mild to severe. I've been on Calphron for a year now, and while it's helped manage my phosphate levels, I've experienced some ups and downs. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'd love to share tips and advice. What are your thoughts on this medication?

Bone pain was the worst. But my doctor had to increase the tablets to control phosphate levels. I'd rather deal with the pain

I've been on Calphron for a few months and it's been a lifesaver. My phosphate levels are finally under control.

I’m glad this discussion is open. I was recently told that I need to take this drug. I think I need to understand more.

This is a must-read topic even if you don't suffer from any kidney condition; it is informative. But isn't there anything we can do to avoid getting that far?

I think the side effects are manageable if you stay hydrated and take them with food. It's worth it for the control over phosphate levels.

Is there any diet I can follow to just avoid such side effects? Or do we really have to rely on medication?

I appreciate this thread. I'm about to start Calphron and I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Thanks for the insights!

Has anyone tried a different brand? Maybe it would help with the side effects. I’ve been thinking about switching.
