I've been thinking about switching to Eluryng which is a flexible vaginal ring for preventing pregnancy. It releases two hormones—ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel—into your body. You insert it yourself once a month. It sounds convenient, but I have some concerns. I've heard about some serious side effects, and frankly, I'm a bit worried. Plus, vaginal irritation and weight gain have been mentioned as commoner side effects. Has anyone tried this and if so, what do you think of it?

I had some mood changes when I first started using Eluryng, but my doctor said it could just be my body adjusting to the hormones. It leveled out after a couple of months, but it was rough at first.

I've heard some horror stories about Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) with these things. Is that a real risk?

I've been using Eluryng for a few months now and it's been pretty great! No serious side effects so far, just a bit of vaginal irritation at first, but it went away after a week.

I totally get the convenience factor, but I think I'd rather deal with taking a pill daily. The idea of something being inside me for a month makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I've had some weird side effects like depression and mood swings. It's definitely something to keep an eye on. I had to switch to another form of BC because of it.

The vaginal irritation was tough for me to deal with at first, and I thought about quitting it. But the convenience of not having to worry about pills was worth it. Once my body got used to it, the irritation went away.

I've found that Eluryng has really helped with my period cramps and made my cycles more regular. It's been a game-changer for me, especially since I have PCOS. It's completely worth it for me.

Just make sure you'reinserting and removing it correctly—it's a bit tricky at first, but you get the hang of it. And ALWAYS wash your hands before and after!

I switched to Eluryng after using the pill for years. The convenience is a big plus— you insert it once a month and you're good to go. I've had no trouble with insertion, and I only have some light spotting occasionally.

I don't know, it seems like a lot of people have different experiences. Is there really a way to know if it's for you without trying it?
