I've been taking Carbamazepine ER 200mg Tablets for about 6 months now to manage my nerve pain, and I've had a mix of experiences. Initially, the medication was a game-changer. It significantly reduced my pain and allowed me to function better day-to-day. However, I've recently started experiencing some concerning side effects, like memory issues and dizziness, which I've not had before. I'm starting to wonder if I should talk to my doctor about adjusting my dosage or trying something else. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Also, what are some of the common side effects you might have encountered?

So glad I found this thread! I've been considering trying Carbamazepine for my bipolar disorder, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone had any positive experiences with it for this specific condition?

I think the extended-release form is amazing. I only have to take it once a day, which makes life so much easier. Just be careful to not miss the dose! Haven't had any serious issues so far, but I'm keeping an eye out.

I feel like doctors always rush you onto these meds without much warning. I wish I had known about the potential for low sodium levels before I started taking it. It got so bad that I had to go to the ER. Be careful, folks!

As someone who has struggled with bipolar disorder, I can say that finding the right medication is a real game of trial and error. I wish you the best of luck with your treatment!

I had terrible side effects with this med. Ended up doing a full kit of allergy tests and bloodwork. Watch out for that rash and low sodium, it’ll sneak up on you. Made me so weak I barely got out of bed.

I've been on Carbamazepine for a couple of years now, and it's been a lifesaver for my trigeminal neuralgia. I did experience some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. My doctor kept me on the lower doses at my request, but every patient is different. If it's causing you issues though, it's definitely worth discussing with your doctor.

My friend had a really bad reaction to this. Start taking it and then a week later, suddenly their vision is all messed up. Scary stuff. Be careful y'all!
