I was recently prescribed Cardene IV, 0.1mg/ml Inj., 200ml to manage a sudden spike in my blood pressure. This medication is administered intravenously and works by relaxing the blood vessels, which helps to reduce the strain on the heart. My doctor explained that it can cause several side effects, ranging from mild to severe. I'm curious to hear from others who have used Nicardipine and how it worked for them. What were your experiences? Did you face any side effects? How quickly did your blood pressure stabilize? Any tips or advice for managing the side effects would be greatly appreciated. I'm particularly interested in knowing how long it takes for the medication to start working and how long the effects last. Do let me know if you experienced the urge to have an allergic reaction, such as a rash, hives, or swelling. Also, how did you manage the irritation at the injection site, which includes redness, burning, or pain?

I'm on it right now and it's working well. I've only had some tiredness, which is manageable. Hope everyone is doing well with their treatment!

I had to report irritation at the injection site. It was painful, and the medics didn't notice the swelling.

I've had a great experience, no side effects.

I had to report shortcutness of breath to the FDA as a side effect. I was on vacation in Japan when I started experiencing the side effects. It was scary.

Make sure to keep an eye on your blood pressure. I had to switch to something else because of an abnormal heartbeat, but the doctors were quicker to respond than the nurses who didn't notice the bleeding at the injection site
