I've been taking Carvedilol ER 40mg Capsules for a few weeks now, and I've noticed some side effects that I'm not sure about. I know that the medication is supposed to lower blood pressure and heart rate, which is great, but I've been experiencing some dizziness and fatigue that's making it hard to get through the day. I've also had some chest discomfort that's worrying me. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? What should I do?

I know it can be tough, especially when you first start taking it. Your body needs to adjust to the medication. Maybe try taking it with food and see if that helps with the dizziness. Always talk to your doctor if you're worried about side effects, but don't just stop taking it!

I’ve heard similar things from people in my support group. Some of us are on the same medication and it’s a mixed bag. Some have no issues, others are like you. Just be sure not to ignore the discomfort or other symptoms. Trust your instincts if something feels wrong.

You should call your doctor immediately about the chest discomfort. There can be horrible side effects that you shouldn’t be experiencing. Not worth taking the risk.

I have been on it for a year now, and it took me a while to get used to it. Talk to your cardiologist about it seriously. It might be just the medication, or your heart might be in worse shape than you thought – a doctor visit might be needed, sadly.

Dang, I hope your symptoms get better! If not, you will probably need to be prescribed something else.

Yikes, this sounds like a bad trip! Are you sure it's from the drug and not something else? Also feeling bad, I’d go to the doctor if I were you.

I was on Carvedilol ER for a while and had similar issues. What worked for me was adjusting the dosage. I went down to 20mg and it helped with the dizziness and fatigue. But I had to discuss this with my doctor, don’t try to alter your dose without medical advice.

Blood pressure meds are always tough. But the side effects thankfully usually disappear after the first few days. Are you drinking enough water? Sometimes dehydration can make it worse.
