I've been prescribed Cormax 0.05% Topical Scalp Solution for my psoriasis, and I'm a bit hesitant to start using it due to the long list of potential side effects. Has anyone else used this medication? How well did it work for you, and did you experience any of the more serious side effects? I'd love to hear your experiences and any advice you might have. The prescription is for about 3 months of daily application, and I'm curious if it's worth the risk for such an extended period. Is the steroid base very harsh on the scalp or is this safer than other steroid creams with skin thinning and other issues? I've also heard that this solution can cause thinning of the skin. Is that common with long-term use, and how noticeable is the effect? I'm not sure if this will make my hair thin out and eventually fall out, which is my top concern before starting. What should I expect for the first couples of weeks of application?

I have had mild side effects, but it has been well worth it. Cormax has helped me with my psoriasis as well.

I've had a really good experience with it. I used it for about 2 months and noticed a significant decrease in redness and itching. I didn't really have any side effects, but I kept using it.

I have heard people say it can actually cause so many issues for some users it can cause hair loss. I'm not sure if that's actually possible and there are so many side effects I'm scared to use it for my psoriasis.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Cormax the first time I used it. It was horrible! I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. I had to go to the ER and ended up needing epinephrine. I didn't even finish the first bottle. There's no way I'd ever try this again.

I've been using Cormax for years, and while it's helped with my eczema, I've also noticed some skin thinning and stretch marks on my scalp. It's not great, but the relief from the itching and redness makes the tradeoff worth it for me. However, I know a few people who have had severe side effects. Always worth a discussion with your dermatologist.

I used it for psoriasis for a month, and I did not have any side effects at all.

So why is it not available over the counter? I've been trying to get a prescription. I've been using it since the spring and haven't had any real side effects. I'd like to see what happens if I use it longer term.

I used Cormax for a few months, and it worked wonders for my scalp psoriasis. I only experienced mild burning and skin thinning. Nothing too unusual -- but it was enough for me to worry about the longer term effects and the side effects. I think it's worth a try with frequent check-ins with your dermatologist. Just be sure to follow your doctor's instructions closely and keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms. If you experience side effects, don't ignore them and be sure to discuss them.
