I recently had to start a course of Cefadroxil 500mg/5ml suspension for an infection. It's only been a few days, but I'm already worried. I've read about the possible side effects, and I'm on high alert for any signs of trouble, especially the allergic reactions. I'm trying to take it all in stride, but I can't shake the feeling of unease. Has anyone else taken this and had any issues? I just want to be prepared for anything that might come up. I know it's important to finish the full course, but I'm just feeling really down.

My doctor prescribed this for my kid's ear infection. We finished the full course and didn't have any issues, knock on wood.

I never had an allergic reaction, but I've had stomach issues. The diarrhea really came on suddenly, too. I can't say the effects were fun, but I got over the infection.

It'll help to brush your teeth really well after taking it, to remove any residue.

I had to take Cefadroxil a while back. I would say it's worth dealing with potential side effects; it's really effective. I noticed I had a bit of diarrhea, but it was better than the alternative. I finished the course and felt so much better. I do recommend taking it with food to help with stomach upset.

I've been on antibiotics before, and they always mess up my stomach. Definitely a downside, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? My doctor had me get a stool test to rule out C.diff.

I don't think I've ever had an allergic reaction, but I'm pretty sure I've had some of the other side effects. If I get the diarrhea, I usually stop taking the antibiotic.

Diarrhea, discolored stool, feeling super weak, dry skin, itching... any of these symptoms are concerning on this medication. I had to stop taking it because of my liver issues.

I had a reaction to this medication when I was in my twenties. I felt really sick, with chills and a fever. It was scary enough that I still occasionally have nightmares about it.

I just started taking it yesterday, and I'm already feeling weird. Can anyone confirm if they had a delayed reaction?

A few years ago, I had a severe sinus infection. My doctor prescribed Cefadroxil, and it worked wonders. I had some stomach upset, but nothing I couldn't handle. I'd say it's worth the trade-off.
