Cefazolin is an antibiotic medication used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including skin, bone, joint, and urinary tract infections. It is also commonly used to prevent infections before and during surgery. It works by killing the bacteria that cause these infections. While generally effective, Cefazolin can cause several side effects, some of which are quite serious. This thread is to share experiences and ask questions about side effects. Let's discuss how to manage them and when to seek medical help.

I've had some bad diarrhea while on Cefazolin and even ended up with a yeast infection from it. Definitely not fun. Make sure to take probiotics if you need to take it.

I wonder about the long-term effects of Cefazolin? I had to use it for a pretty long period for a bone infection. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Unfortunately, I experienced a severe skin reaction. It was scary, but my doctor caught it early enough to manage it. I will never forget the redness and blisters. My advice: keep an eye on your skin!

I was prescribed Cefazolin after a surgery and had a pretty bad reaction. I developed a rash all over my body and had trouble breathing. Thankfully, I got to the hospital in time and they managed it, but it was terrifying!
