Cefixime is a versatile antibiotic suspension used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including ear infections, throat infections, lung infections (bronchitis), and urinary tract infections. Its primary mechanism of action involves inhibiting the growth of bacteria, making it an effective treatment option for many common infections. However, like all medications, it comes with a range of possible side effects, both common and rare. This thread aims to provide a detailed discussion on the uses, side effects, and overall experience of using Cefixime 200mg/5ml Suspension. Feel free to share your experiences, ask questions, or provide helpful tips to others who might be considering this medication.

This stuff works wonders for ear infections. My doctor prescribed it for my kid, and within a few days, he was back to normal. Just make sure to follow the dosing instructions carefully.

I always worry about liver problems with any new med. I've had some upset stomach, but nothing too bad yet. Just keeping an eye on it.

I’ve been taking it for a few days now and I’m dealing with some stomach pain. Is this normal? Do I need to call my doctor?

I just got prescribed this for my 3-year-old's ear infection. Has anyone else dealt with giving this to a kid? Any tips?

I’ve never had an allergic reaction to antibiotics, so I’m a bit nervous taking this. I know the symptoms to look out for, but any advice would be welcome.

I had a really bad reaction to Cefixime. I started getting hives and my throat felt like it was closing up. I ended up in the ER, and it was scary. If anyone experiences anything like that, get to a hospital immediately.

It's important to finish the full course of antibiotics even if you feel better. Stopping early can lead to antibiotic resistance.

I've been on Cefixime for a throat infection and I've gotten really bad diarrhea. I thought it was just a common side effect, but now I'm worried about CDAD. Should I be concerned?

Just a heads up, if you’re taking this and notice any signs of kidney problems, like sudden weight gain or blood in your urine, get to a doctor right away. My friend had to be hospitalized for it.
