Ceprotin 500unit Inj, 1 Vial, is a lifesaving medication for people born with a severe lack of Protein C, which can cause dangerous blood clots. It replaces the missing protein and helps prevent excessive blood clotting. Have any of you or your loved ones used Ceprotin? What was your experience like? Were there any unexpected side effects? How often do you need to use it? I've heard it can be a bit pricey, so any tips on managing that would also be appreciated. Let's share our stories and support each other!

This thread is making me miss the old days of Reddit. Long before there was a subreddit for every little thing, a thread like this would get hundreds of replies, some of them funny, others extremely helpful and some downright scary.

I remember when Ceprotin first came out. It was a huge relief for a lot of families dealing with Protein C deficiency. It's not a cure, but it's a lifeline.

I've been on Ceprotin for about a year now and it's been a bit of a roller coaster. The first few infusions were rough with some dizziness and shortness of breath, but my doctor adjusted the dosage and I've been doing better since. I've learned to stay hydrated before and after infusions, which seems to help with the side effects.

Ceprotin has been a game-changer for my daughter. She was diagnosed with severe Protein C deficiency at birth, and Ceprotin has literally saved her life. We've had to deal with some side effects like mild rash and itching, but nothing too severe. We work closely with her hematologist to manage everything. It is expensive, but we've found some patient assistance programs that have helped a lot.

Dizziness and fainting during the very first infusion made me worried. But after some time, I have found that I can manage the side effects better.

I've had a pretty good experience overall. The biggest downside is the cost and the effort to get proper reimbursement. Of course it is not fun to get the shots but it's a necessary evil. I also try to log my symptoms and reactions to Ceprotin on the FDA website.

My son has been using Ceprotin for a few years now and we have had some challenges. It's expensive, and we've had to deal with some side effects like mild dizziness and occasional bruising. But the alternative is far worse, so we manage.

The price is ridiculous, but I have to admit, it has kept me alive. I'm just grateful there's something out there that works.
