I've been using Chlorhexidine 0.12% oral rinse for about a week now to treat my gingivitis. I've noticed that my gums are bleeding less, which is great, but I'm a bit concerned because my teeth have started to turn brown. Is this a normal side effect? Should I be worried? I've read about staining, but I didn't expect it to happen this quickly. I've been using it as directed, but I'm not sure if I should stop or if there's something I can do to prevent further staining. I've also noticed a change in taste, which is a bit worrying. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I was really worried about the taste change, but it went away after a few days. Just give it some time and keep using it as directed. Chlorhexidine is great for gingivitis!

I used Chlorhexidine for a while and it really helped with my gum inflammation. Just make sure to rinse with water afterward to minimize the staining. Good luck!

Brown teeth isn't good. If I were you I would get a second opinion from a professional dentist. Do not trust everything you hear from people online.

I remember my dentist telling me that Chlorhexidine can cause some staining but it's usually just surface level and can be brushed off. Try using a soft toothbrush and some baking soda to gently scrub your teeth.

Chlorhexidine can cause some serious side effects. If you're experiencing any kind of severe gum pain, swelling, or numbness, stop using it immediately and see a doctor. I made that mistake and it wasn't fun.

I had the same issue with staining. My dentist recommended using a whitening toothpaste to help combat it. It worked for me! Stick with it, the benefits for your gums are worth it!

I had this same issue. Just don't drink any dark sodas or coffee while using it. It will make the staining worse. Stick to water and clear drinks.

Staining is a common side effect. It should go away once you stop using it. Just make sure to keep up with your oral hygiene routine!

Have you tried switching to a different strength? My dentist had me try a lower concentration and it worked just as well with less staining.

Be careful with this stuff. It's strong! I had a weird reaction where my mouth felt like it was on fire, definitely not normal. Consult your doctor if you notice anything weird.
