I've been using Chlorhexidine 0.12% Oral Rinse for about a month now, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my gum health. The redness, swelling, and bleeding have all decreased, which is great. However, I've also started to notice some staining on my teeth, and I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should be concerned. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I've read about some serious side effects online. Should I be worried about these, or are they rare and unlikely to occur? I'm curious to hear from others who have used this mouthwash and their experiences with it.

I had a scary experience with this stuff. I started feeling a numbness in my mouth and gums after a few days. I stopped using it and called my doctor right away. Turns out I was allergic to it. Moral of the story: pay attention to your body and if something feels off, stop and seek medical advice.

I've been using it for a while and honestly, the staining isn't that bad. It's more like a light discoloration that you can't really noticed unless you're looking for it. Also, I've noticed that my gums are much healthier. Definitely worth the trade-off. I only noticed it when I went to my dentist for a cleaning. I'd encourage folks to do the same and keep on top of it.

It helped me a lot with gingivitis, but I did get some mouth irritation in the first few days. It went away after a week. Also, I agree with OP that the staining can be a bit annoying. My dentist recommended switching to a whitening toothpaste, but I'm not sure it’s worth the extra cost with all the side effects of Chlorhexidine.

Is the staining really that bad? I’ve been thinking about trying this, but it’s always the little stuff that gets to me. At least the dental stuffs are minor and helps but can be annoying. I can handle, but I hope I don't have a reaction. It's worth a shot. Worse case I switch it up. I've had good luck with other stuff over the years.

I've heard it's pretty rare, but yeah, the allergic reactions are no joke. It's always a good idea to check with your doctor before starting any new medication, right?

I've had a couple of fillings since the rinse and they’re all stained! My dentist says its fine; I just brush a bit harder these days. Can't really blame them since I did the rinse before a dentist appointment. Kinda thought they’d mention it would do that; might have needed to brush my teeth with a magnifying glass the day of!

I’ve been using this for over a year. The staining is annoying but manageable, and my dentist has been keeping an eye on it. I’m sure if you take care to clean your teeth well, the staining shouldn’t be too bad. I wish they made a version that didn't stain as easily. If anyone knows of one, please share!
