I've been prescribed Chlorpromazine 25mg/ml Ampules, 2ml for my schizophrenia and was curious for more information. It's used to treat certain mental or mood disorders (like schizophrenia) and also to control severe nausea and vomiting, intractable hiccups, and to calm agitated patients. It works by affecting certain natural substances in the brain. I'm concerned about the side effects, especially the serious ones. Has anyone else had any experiences with this medication?

I've always been nervous about tardive dyskinesia, but my doctor said the risk is low if I take it as prescribed. I think it's crucial to talk to your doctor about the possible side effects, and what to do if they happen.

I've had bad experiences with other antipsychotics, so I was really hesitant to try Chlorpromazine. But it's been surprisingly manageable. The dry mouth is annoying, but the drowsiness is actually a positive for me, since I have trouble sleeping.

Serious side effects are scary. I had a friend who had an allergic reaction to Chilopromazine and the hives were severe. She had to go to the ER right away. Definitely keep an eye out for those signs and don't hesitate to get medical help.

I tried this for my anxiety. Not a good match for me. I had serious vision changes and really bad sleep disturbances. My doctor switched me to a different medication and I'm much happier.

I had no idea it could cause menstrual changes or erectile dysfunction. That's scary stuff. My doctor didn't tell me about these.

Good to know about the side effects. I'm on this medication. I personally have not had any serious side effects, but I get really restless at night. Has anyone else experienced this?

Night sweats and dizziness are normal. Don't be alarmed by them unless they persist for a long period of time. My doctor told me that NMS is a real thing and to be cautious about the symptoms. The side effects are scary, but the medication can be life changing.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is to report any side effects to your doctor immediately. The last thing you want is to ignore something serious.

I've been on this for a few months now, and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. The drowsiness is killer, but it's managing my symptoms pretty well. Just make sure to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. The dry mouth can be brutal.
