I was prescribed Ciloxan 0.3% Ophth Ointment for a stubborn case of bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye). I've used it for the past week and have seen some improvement, but I'm still experiencing some irritation. Has anyone else used this medication for a similar condition? I'm curious to hear about others' experiences, especially regarding side effects. The packaging warns about severe allergic reactions and other serious side effects, so I'm a bit worried. How common are these issues? Are there any tips for applying the ointment to minimize discomfort? I've been having some trouble with the application. Right now I'm just putting it in the corner of my eye and letting it spread, but it's a bit messy. Any advice would be appreciated! Also, I've noticed a slight bad taste in my mouth after applying it. Is this normal?

The doctor mentioned that Ciloxan works by stopping the growth of bacteria, which is reassuring. However, I'm not sure if I should be concerned about the potential side effects or if they're rare.

I've also heard that some people get white crystals in their eye from this medication. Does anyone know what that's about? I'd love to hear any insights or experiences from others who have used Ciloxan eye ointment.

Good luck with the ointment! I've used it before and the white crystals are a common side effect, but they shouldn't cause any harm. Still, if you notice any changes in your vision or severe irritation, definitely call your doctor

Does anyone know if it's safe to use other eye drops while using Ciloxan? My allergies are acting up but I'm afraid to use anything else.

I used Ciloxan for a corneal ulcer last year. It was pretty effective, but I did experience some eye irritation. I found that using it right before bed was the best way to avoid any blurriness during the day.

I'm using Ciloxan for my pink eye problem and I find it works well but I did not have any side effects until now

Yep, the crystals are harmless. My doctor said they are just the medication solidifying in my eye. No big deal.

I've used Ciloxan a couple of times and I experienced some discomfort but the doctor reassured me that it's normal. I did notice a bad taste in my mouth too, but it's definitely not as bad as the pain and infection I was experiencing.
