Cisplatin 100mg Inj is a chemotherapy drug known for its potency in treating various types of cancer. By damaging the DNA of cancer cells, it effectively prevents their growth and spread. Administered through an intravenous (IV) infusion, usually in a hospital or clinic setting, Cisplatin is a go-to treatment for many cancer patients. However its effectiveness comes with a significant trade-off: a range of possible side effects, some of which are severe, life-threatening, and require immediate medical attention. This thread will discuss the potential side effects of Cisplatin, ways to manage them, and how to recognize when to seek urgent medical help. Questions welcome.

This is why I chose not to have Cisplatin as my treatment. The side effects sounded too harsh for my body. My doctor said that I could try a different treatment which has less side effects.

Yes dizziness was severe. I thought I was going to pass out. Would highly recommend to avoid driving after treatment.

The hair loss was the worst part, but I lost all my hair when I had to have radiation therapy.

Feel their pain. I had Cisplatin. I felt like someone stuck a knife in my stomach and twisted it a few times.

Anyone else have severe dizziness with this? I've been really lightheaded.

I had to switch treatments because I ended up having an allergic reaction. It was a scary experience. I had to go to the ER immediately. I was so freaked out when I saw my skin getting burnt, and it started to swell.

I had a lot of stomach issues and everything that came out of my body was a mix of brown and red. Luckily my doctor helped me manage it but I was definitely not okay for a bit.

I've been on Cisplatin for my lung cancer and the side effects can be brutal, but my doctor prepared me well and helped manage the symptoms. Hair loss was tough, but the hair grows back. I got a noggin buzz cut.
