I've been prescribed Citalopram 40mg for my depression and I'm a bit nervous. I've heard it can work wonders for some people, but the side effects list is pretty scary. Has anyone else taken this and had a positive experience? How about the side effects? I'm really hoping it helps but need to know what to expect.

I had to stop taking it because of the severe headaches. It was really tough, but I'm glad I did. Everyone is different, so definitely keep an eye on how you feel.

I swear by my yoga and occasional meditation but nothing beats my Citalopram. It's been a lifeline for me. Side effects? Barely noticeable.

My doctor warned me about serotonin syndrome. I had to stop taking another med because of the risk, but Citalopram has been fine so far. Be careful with what you mix it with!

Give it a few weeks. It took me about 6 weeks to start feeling better. Stick with it unless you have severe side effects. And definitely talk to your doctor if anything feels off.

My mom had to join me in the support group to help me. I was feeling so much better it was actually confusing. Stick with it, it gets easier to feel better, but you need to pay attention to the way it makes you feel and not the label on the bottle.

I actually found that the side effects were worth it. My depression was so bad that a little dizziness was nothing compared to how I felt before. Just take it as prescribed and you'll be fine.
