I was prescribed Clindamyc/benz Per 1/5% gel to help manage severe acne. I am starting to wonder how effective it is for severe outbreaks. Does anyone else have experience with this medication? How accurate are the side effects? I get the feeling they are overblown. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Just a heads up, this gel can bleach your clothing and bed sheets. I learned that the hard way. I would also say if you have super sensitive skin, you may want to hold off.

I heard this gel can cause diarrhea if you use too much. Has anyone else experienced this side effect?

I had a severe allergic reaction to this gel. I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. Scary stuff. I had to go to the ER, and they told me to stop using it immediately. The doctor suggested I try a different topical medication. I did know one of the active ingredients can be harsh.

I've had good results with it, but I make sure to patch test any new skincare product. I had a friend who had a bad reaction. I also do not use it more than necessary.

I've been on this gel for six months now, and it's been a game-changer. I had severe cystic acne, and nothing else seemed to work. I started using it twice a day, and within a month, I noticed a huge difference. Just make sure to moisturize afterward, as it can be quite drying. I also switched to a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. I did experience some redness and burning when I first started but after a couple of weeks, it settled down.

I've been using this gel for a while now, and it's been great. I've had some dryness, but nothing I can't handle. I do moisturize religiously! Also, I've heard it can cause some issues if you use it with other topicals, so just be aware of that. I'm happy with it!

I've tried it out!! It made my skin super dry. I had to switch to a different medication.
