I've been prescribed Clinimix E 5%/d20w Inj, 1000ml for intravenous nutrition. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone else used this? What was your experience like? I'd really appreciate some insights on the infusion process. How long does it typically take? And what are the chances of experiencing side effects like confusion, muscle pain, or trouble breathing?

I'd recommend asking your nurse for tips on managing side effects. They often have a lot of experience with these situations.

I had Clinimix E for a while and didn't experience any major side effects. Just make sure to monitor your body closely, especially for signs of an allergic reaction or fluid and electrolyte problems. Also, if you feel any pain or redness at the injection site, let your nurse know right away.

Clinimix E is a solid choice, but it’s important to stay vigilant for any signs of high ammonia levels and liver problems. My mom had to monitor those closely when she was on it.

This stuff is a lifesaver for people who can't eat normally. But yeah, the side effects list is scary. I had a friend who used it and had to call the doctor a few times because of some dizziness and muscle problems. But it's all about managing those and keeping in touch with your doctor.

I've had experience with similar IV nutrition solutions. The infusion process can vary, but it’s usually done over several hours. Make sure you communicate openly with your healthcare provider about any concerns or side effects you have. Also, keep an eye out for infusion site reactions—those can happen but are usually minor.

Hydrate as much as you can. It helps with the side effects.

Did you ask your doctor about any alternatives? Some people find other IV nutrition solutions to be more tolerable.

I had a bad infusion site reaction and it sucked. Always make sure the needle is placed correctly, it can make a big difference!
