I've been prescribed Clonidine 0.2mg/24h Weekly Patches for my high blood pressure and I'm curious about others' experiences. The idea of a weekly patch seems convenient, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else used these patches? How did you find the application process? Did you experience any of the side effects like skin irritation or dry mouth? I've also heard that sudden discontinuation can cause issues, so I'm wondering if anyone has had to stop using them and what that process was like. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Just make sure you apply it to a clean, dry area and avoid hairy spots. I had some trouble with it falling off when I first started. And be really careful when you go in the shower because it can get soaking wet and fall off.

The patches work well for me, but I do get a bit of skin irritation where the patch is applied. Using a barrier cream helped a lot. Just make sure to switch up the application site each week to avoid constant irritation.

Be careful with these patches. I had a friend who had a bad reaction and had to switch to a different treatment.

So, the Clonidine Patches are like high-tech Band-Aids? That's pretty cool. Can they make pill versions? I can't be bothered to wear a patch. I'm boring and I remember to take my pills in time (usually)

I had to stop using the patches because of some weird skin reactions. I mean, I'm having to try a different medicine.

I've been on Clonidine patches for a while and I really like how convenient they are. No more daily pills to remember. Just apply a new one every week. If your blood pressure is high, ask your doctor. It's pretty effective. Love the convenience of the weekly patch. However, it did take a bit of getting used to. If you are considering this treatment, definitely talk to your doctor first.

I don't get any side effects, but I do keep track of my blood pressure since it’s not as easy to adjust as a pill. I just have a little machine at home and I'm good to go. I've had no problems so it's been fine.

I had to switch from Clonidine to something else because I got these terrible headaches every time I wore the patch. It was not worth it. I did notice some nasal congestion which went away every time I stopped using the patch. It's just not for everyone.

I've been on these patches for about six months now. The application is pretty straightforward— just clean the area, apply the patch, and smooth it out. I didn't have any issues with skin irritation, but I did experience some dry mouth initially. Drinking plenty of water helped. However, I did notice some dizziness, but my doctor assured me it’s a common side effect and should subside over time. I did have to stop using them recently due to a change in my medication regimen. My doctor advised me to gradually reduce the patch size or duration to minimize withdrawal symptoms. It wasn't too bad, but definitely something to be mindful of.

I had a bit of trouble with dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Stick with it—it gets better. Just be careful getting up from a sitting or lying position. Take it slow until you get used to it. My doc said it's normal and just take it easy.
