Honestly, I think this drug is overhyped. I didn't see any significant changes in my cholesterol levels, and the side effects were a pain to deal with. I ended up switching to a different medication.
I had a terrible experience with this. I had severe stomach pain and back pain that sent me to the ER. Turns out I had pancreatitis. Huge mistake to stop taking it suddenly. Speak to your doctor before you stop taking it. I was so sick and regret not taking it more seriously.
What was your doctor's reasoning for prescribing you Colesevelam? Were you able to try any lifestyle changes before starting this medication? If so, did you find them helpful?

Has anyone tried mixing this with other medications to see if they work better together? I’m curious if I could add something else to my routine to reduce the side effects.
I've been on Colesevelam for a few months now, and it's definitely helped lower my LDL. I didn't experience any severe side effects, but I did have some mild constipation and heartburn. Taking it with plenty of water helped a bit, but I still had to deal with it for the first month.
Okay, but how much does this stuff cost? My insurance barely covers it, and I'm wondering if it's worth it.

My blood sugar levels have stabilized, and I haven’t had any major side effects. I did have some nose and throat irritation at first, but it went away after a few days. I’m glad I stuck with it!
