Hi everyone, I just started taking Prenatal 27mg-1mg Tablets. I've heard they are very important for fetal growth and development, especially the folic acid and iron. I've been taking them for about a week now, and I have wondered if anyone who has taken them could share their experiences. I am also curious about the different side effects I could experience. I have noticed some changes in my stool color, but I am not sure if it's related to the vitamins. If anyone else has experienced this and/or has any advice, please let me know!

I'm really glad you posted this. I just found out I'm pregnant and was wondering about prenatal vitamins. I'll definitely be looking into these. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I switched to a different brand midway through my pregnancy because these ones made me nauseous. It's worth trying different brands if you're having trouble with one. Your body might react differently to another brand.

Has anyone tried the chewable versions? I have trouble swallowing pills and I'm nervous about taking the standard tablets. My friends told me they come in a big pill and I am looking for other options.

Just a heads up, make sure to take them with food to avoid an upset stomach. I didn't know this when I started and had some unpleasant moments.

Side effects are different for everyone. I had the opposite problem—diarrhea. It was a bit inconvenient, but it usually went away after a few days. If you experience any severe symptoms, though, definitely contact a doctor. You don't want to take any risks during this time.

I took these during my first pregnancy and found them to be great! No major side effects for me, but I did experience some mild constipation. Drinking plenty of water and eating high-fiber foods helped a lot.

It's normal for your stool to change color when you start taking iron supplements. This is due to the iron passing through your digestive system. It's a bit weird, but totally normal.

I have heard you have to be careful with iron pills. My mom insisted on making me take them with orange juice. She said the vitamin C helps with absorption, but I am not sure if this is true or if she just likes to see me squirm (since I hate orange juice).
