I've been diagnosed with COPD and my doctor recommended Spiriva Respimat 2.5mcg Inh 4gm 60d. I've been reading about it and it looks like it can really help with my breathing problems. Does anyone know if its effective for long term use? Also, anyone get any of the serious side effects mentioned? I'm a bit worried about the breathing problems it can cause.

Be careful when getting your prescription filled. The pharmacist gave me the wrong one a couple of times. Annoying but not dangerous.

Worth mentioning again that Spiriva is not for sudden breathing problems. My buddy had a panic attack and tried using it for that and ended up in the ER, scary stuff. Stick to your rescue inhalers during an attack.

I've had some trouble with urination issues but it didn't stop me from using Spiriva. It's super helpful for me and I don't mind the minor side effects. Just be sure to drink lots of water. Probably good advice for any meds though.

Just make sure you’re actually using it right. Those little inhalers can be tricky. I had to go to a class at the pharmacy to learn how to use it properly. Now it's a breeze.

I've seen a lot of people have trouble with this, but not everyone is the same. If you're worried, take notes on how you feel for the first few weeks, then talk to your doctor. For me, it was worth it, but everyone's different.

I started using Spiriva a few months ago on my doctor's recommendation. I'm happy to report that I'm not experiencing any side effects or any of the serious symptoms. I take it daily and haven't had any trouble. But everyone is different, so just stay vigilant.

I used Spiriva for a short period but my doctor switched my prescription because of potential urinary tract infections. Not sure if it was the Spiriva, but I'm more comfortable with my current meds.

Spiriva was lifesaver! I was constantly struggling with my breathing and Spiriva made it so much easier I didn't need to worry about sudden breathing problems anymore. It's not a cure though, so it’s important to keep up with regular checkups and monitor your condition. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

I've been using Spiriva for a few years now and it's made a huge difference in my ability to breathe. I use it daily and it really helps with managing my COPD symptoms. I haven't experienced any serious side effects, but I did have a bit of a dry mouth at first. I've heard mixed experiences though, so it may be worth talking to your doctor about the potential risks.
