Curosurf is a medicine given to premature babies who have trouble breathing because their lungs are not fully developed. It's like a natural substance that helps the tiny air sacs in lungs stay open, making it easier for the baby to breathe and get enough oxygen. But with any medication, especially those given to premature infants, there are always concerns. I've heard that Curosurf has some serious side effects, especially if the baby doesn’t respond well. Has anyone here had personal experience with Curosurf? How did it affect your child? What precautions did your healthcare team take to monitor for side effects? Also, does it intervene with other treatments the baby is undergoing? These questions are weighing heavily on my mind as my premature baby, who is currently in the NICU, is showing signs of Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

Every baby is different, and every case is unique. Trust your doctors, but also trust your instincts. You know your baby better than anyone.

Agreed, it's a miracle drug for many, but the downside is terrifying. The NICU team was so attentive and explained every step. They monitored my daughter for any signs of allergic reactions or other issues. It was stressful, but worth it in the end. She's doing great.

Just a heads up, the FDA reports a lot of these reactions are rare but serious. Doctors are usually prepared for them. Please keep a close eye on your baby if they’re on Curosurf.

My sister's baby was on Curosurf and had no issues at all. No side effects. She’s a healthy toddler now. It really depends on the baby, I guess.
