I was recently prescribed Cycloserine 250mg Capsules to treat a severe case of tuberculosis. After reading about the potential side effects, including allergies, mood changes, and neurological issues, I'm a bit worried. I've been on medication for a while and while the medication is effective, I'm constantly aware of the potential risks. Reading the long list of side effects and severe symptoms is a bit overwhelming. Has anyone else experienced these side effects and has anyone got any tips on managing them? I want to avoid ending up in a serious condition but I also understand that this medication is important to my recovery from tuberculosis. The side effects are brutal and my doctor did warn me about them. I am actually quite concerned about the mental health risks and the possible neurological issues. I am hoping that someone has some good advice.

Have you talked to your doctor about monitoring your mood and mental health since it is known to affect your mental state? The whole reason I was able to remain positive and continue taking the medication is because I was asking a lot of questions. I knew what was coming before it hit me. You have to get all of the questions and concerns out there so that you can be ready for when it happens. It is a hard pill to swallow but it will be worth it in the end. Do not be afraid to ask for help and support from your doctor.

The first week was tough with nausea, but it got better. Stick with it, it will be worth it, trust me. I'm feeling better and the side effects were worth letting those bacteria stop building their protective layer. I didn't know what to expect but everything went well after the initial nausea. Just know that it will not be easy for you right away.

My husband took this and had some weird skin reactions. Doctor said it was an allergic reaction and we had to stop immediately. Be very careful and report any rash or itching.

Is it true that this drug can cause memory loss? I've seen some posts online mentioning it but it could have been exaggerated. I am talking about what you mentioned in your questions about the serious side effects. If it does, is it permanent?

Just wanted to say that while the side effects are scary, don't let them stop you from treatment. TB is serious business. Good luck!

I've heard that some people have issues with excessive sleepiness. Make sure to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.

I had a friend who took this and had seizures. Scary stuff. Make sure you have someone with you when you start taking it, just in case. He was not a happy camper after the seizures. They came out of nowhere and it was very scary.

If anyone else is thinking about trying this for their TB, it does work! It's given me my life back! I would not have been able to handle the side effects if I had not known about them beforehand. I didn't get the same side effects as other people have mentioned. Everyone is different. It was rough the first few weeks but I was able to live my life and get my breathing back to normal. I feel healthy again. I knew what to expect, I wasn't surprised, and it was uncomfortable but I am here to say that the side effects are worth the recovery.
