I was recently diagnosed with diabetes insipidus and prescribed DDAVP 4mcg/ml Inj, 10ml. This man-made hormone, similar to vasopressin, has significantly helped my kidneys control water retention. However, I've been experiencing some side effects like headaches and weakness. I'm curious about other people's experiences with this medication and any tips for managing these side effects. Has anyone else had similar issues, or maybe even worse? Also, I've noticed some injection site irritation; how can I minimize this? Looking forward to hearing from anyone who has similar experiences or knowledge about this medication.

For injection site irritation, try rotating the sites and using a different injection technique. Ask your nurse or doctor to show you different ways to inject, like the pinch and inject method. It can make a world of difference!

I was really nervous about starting DDAVP, but it's been a game-changer for me. I had to adjust my dose a few times, and my doctor and I monitored my sodium levels closely but now it's fine. Just be patient, and work closely with your healthcare team. Remember, everyone's experience is different, so don't be discouraged if it takes some time to find the right balance. Stay strong!

It seems the possible side effects are pretty serious. Given that, I'd want to monitor sodium levels pretty closely.

DDAVP has been a God send for my bleeding disorder. No more endless bleeding woes.

Every time I take DDAVP, I feel like I'm walking on a tightrope. I can't handle the side effects. I'm thinking of asking my doctor to try some other treatment options. Is this a good move? What would you do?

I felt extremely itchy while on this medication. Is it common? I've stopped taking it now but finally this week I experienced these symptoms after taking ibuprofen. Is it possible to have an allergic reaction after stopping medication?

I've been on DDAVP for years, and while it's been a lifesaver for my diabetes insipidus, the side effects can be tough. I've found that drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated helps with the headaches and weakness. Also, switching to a lower dose helped reduce the side effects. Might be worth discussing with your doctor!

I've had some issues with low sodium levels (hyponatremia) while on DDAVP. Make sure to monitor your sodium levels regularly and talk to your doctor if you experience any symptoms like headache, confusion, or seizures. It's serious stuff, but manageable with the right care.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they're constantly peeing when they first start DDAVP?
