Dealing with Dextrose 70% Injection: Is it worth it? Thoughts and Experiences
Hello everyone, I've been dealt with the Dextrose 70% Inj for a while now. As a concentrated sugar solution given through a vein, it basically supplies the body with energy when you can't eat or absorb enough food or need extra sugar. It's usually part of a TPN mixture. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience with this. How did you find it? What side effects did you encounter? Do you think it helped you? How bad were the side effects?

If you experience a lot of extreme chills and a fever go to a hospital immediately you need an infusion of a different type. My doctor said it's a life-threating situation.
I had a really bad reaction to Dextrose 70%. I had this rash that wouldn't go away and it itched like crazy. Plus, I felt so dizzy all the time. My doctor switched me to a different solution, and I feel much better now. Be careful out there.
I had to use it for a month. I felt like a poke monster with all the IV connections, but it did help me gain some weight and strength. You just have to be really careful with it and keep an eye on those side effects.
If you're considering it, I'd say go for it if you need to. Just make sure you're prepared for the side effects. Keep in mind that you should report any side effects to the FDA if you have questions or concerns about side effects.
