I recently started treatment with Decitabine 50mg Inj, 1 Vial for my MDS. I wanted to connect with others who have experience with this drug. I've read about the potential side effects, but I'm curious about everyone's experiences with managing them. Additionally, I'm interested in hearing about any tips or tricks for dealing with the treatment itself. Thanks in advance for sharing your stories and advice!

Decitabine is a chemotherapy drug used to treat certain types of blood cancers. It works by helping to turn 'on' genes in cancer cells that tell them to stop growing or to die, which can slow down or stop the growth of cancer. However, managing the side effects can be challenging, and I'd love to hear about how others have coped.

I found that yoga and meditation helped me manage the anxiety and stress of treatment. It's a good way to take your mind off things for a bit. You should try it if you haven't.

I've been on decitabine for about 6 months now. The side effects were awful at the start, but my doctor adjusted my medications and treatment schedule. Now, I feel much better. I've had a few bouts of low blood pressure but managing my hydration improved it. My blood pressure has stabilized, and I've not had any further issues. It's tough, but it's worth it if it helps fight the cancer.

I've been on Decitabine for a few months now, and the first couple of cycles were rough. I had some pretty bad fatigue and nausea, but my doctor adjusted my anti-nausea meds, and that helped a lot. Also, I've found that exercise helps with the fatigue. I feel better when I'm moving, even if it's just a short walk.

Be prepared for the injection site irritation. It was a bit uncomfortable for me at first. My nurse gave me some tips on how to apply the injection and care for the site. It's much better now.

I was really nervous about the infusion itself but it was quicker and easier than I thought. It’s good to know that there are a few tough days but I was able to manage with anti-nausea meds and rest.

I had a really hard time with the mouth sores at first. My oncologist recommended using a special mouthwash and eating soft foods. It made a big difference. Also, I found that staying hydrated helped a lot with the overall fatigue

I know it’s tough, but try to keep up with a balanced diet if you can. It’s helped me maintain my energy levels between treatments. Hydration is also super important, especially dealing with the nausea and fatigue.
