I've been prescribed Deferasirox 180mg Tablets to manage excess iron due to frequent blood transfusions. The medicine is supposed to help my body get rid of the extra iron, mainly through the stool. However, I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones that require immediate medical attention. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, good or bad.

Be careful with this one, folks. I know someone who ended up in the hospital with kidney problems from Deferasirox. It's rare, but it does happen. Better safe than sorry.

I'm thinking of switching to a different medication for managing iron overload. These urges on the stool are unbearable.

Deferasirox can cause Stevens-Johnson syndrome? That sounds scary. Is that very common?

Anyone else noticed their stools becoming black and tarry? I’ve made an appointment with my doctor. I have a suspicion that it’s related to the Deferasirox but I want to be absolutely sure.

I've been on Deferasirox for a while now, and while it does help with the iron, I've had some nasty side effects. Mostly stomach issues like diarrhea and upset stomach, but nothing too severe. Just be prepared for that.
