I've been using Denavir 1% Cream for a few weeks now to treat my cold sores, and while it seems to be working, I've had some concerns about the side effects. The cream itself is easy to apply and doesn't leave a residue, which is great for a quick solution during work. However, I've experienced some irritation around the application site, which has me a bit worried. Has anyone else had similar issues? I've read that serious side effects are rare, but it's always scary to think about the potential risks. I'm also curious about how others handle the application process, especially in social situations. Does anyone have tips on applying the cream discreetly?

I've used Denavir before, and while it worked well, I had some minor irritation too. I found that applying a small amount of Vaseline around the area helped soothe the irritation. Just be careful not to get too much on the cold sore itself, as it can dilute the effectiveness of the Denavir.

I've been using Denavir on and off for years. I personally don't use it until I feel a tingle starting that means a cold sore is coming. Once I start feeling that, I will apply it around the clock until the cold sore is gone.

Try to avoid touching your mouth and lips throughout the day, especially if you're in public. I've found that keeping my hands clean and avoiding touching my face has helped a lot.

The skin irritation is definitely something to watch out for, but I've found that if you apply a thin layer and let it dry completely before covering up, it helps a lot. Also, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after application to avoid spreading the virus.

My friend swears by Denavir, but I'm trying a natural remedy first. Does anyone know if applying aloe vera can help with cold sores instead?

I've never had any issues with Denavir, but I've used it for years. It seems like it has really helped and I want to share my experiences from a cumulative perspective.

I've had to explain to my kids something about something— like cold sores are contagious, but you can't spread it to anyone else if you treat it right away.

I wish Denavir was covered by insurance. I can’t believe how expensive it is to treat something as common as cold sores.
