Hey everyone, my dentist just prescribed me Prevident 5000 Enamel Mint Paste to help with my sensitivity and prevent cavities. The fluoride sounds great for my tooth enamel, and I'm hoping the potassium nitrate helps with the pain from hot and cold foods. But it's literally 20 times the price of regular toothpaste! Has anyone else tried this, and if so, how was your experience? Is the high price justified? Also, it looks like it has some pretty serious possible side effects. I'm trying not to worry, but any insights are appreciated.

This stuff is sooooo minty. and the side effects are super rare and harmless, just keep an eye out for them if you decide to try it. Just please remember to use it twice a day.

What’s the difference between Prevident 5000 and Sensodyne? I've been using Sensodyne for years and I love it, I would hate to switch...

I've tried the minty one. I think you need to focus on the ingredients more than the mint. If it’s minty then it’s for sure effective to me. But the potassium nitrate might be your answer to the sensitivity problem.

Definitely worth it. I've had no issues with the side effects and I'm glad I spent the extra money. My cavity risk went way down after a few months.

Seriously, Prevident 5000 is a game-changer! I've had issues with tooth sensitivity for years, and this stuff has made a world of difference. Plus, my dentist said it has actually hardened my enamel. I've had no side effects but I also have really low sensitivity to everything. I recommend using it before bed and before going to work every day. Also, no flossing.
