I've been on Depo-Provera for about a year now, and while it's been great for birth control, I've experienced some side effects that have me concerned. I've gained weight, have frequent headaches, and my periods are all over the place. I've also heard about some serious side effects like blood clots and allergic reactions. Has anyone else dealt with these issues? Is it worth switching to a different method? I want to hear from you all about your experiences and any advice you might have. Especially interested in hearing from those who have switched from Depo-Provera and what they chose instead.

I've been on Depo for 2 years and have only experienced minor side effects like bloating and spotting between periods. I haven't had any serious issues so far, but I do keep an eye out for the warning signs. I definitely agree with getting regular check ups and monitoring any changes in your body.

Depo has been a lifesaver for me. I have endometriosis and Depo has helped manage my symptoms. I've had some side effects, but they're worth it for the relief I get from my pain. Plus, I don't have to worry about pregnancy with this method.

Honestly, I think the weight gain is worth it for the convenience. I get my shot every 3 months and don't have to worry about taking a pill every day. Plus, my periods are much lighter and less painful. Everyone's body responds differently, so it's worth sticking it out for a few months to see if the side effects subside.

Depo made me so tired! I couldn't function during the day. It was awful. Switched to a copper IUD and it's been great.

I've been on Depo for 5 years and have only had minor side effects. I've gained some weight, but nothing drastic. The biggest issue for me is that my periods are irregular and spotty. But overall, I'm happy with it.

I was on Depo for a few years and had a similar experience with weight gain and headaches. I also noticed that my moods were all over the place. I ended up switching to an IUD and it's been a game changer for me. No more hormonal mood swings and my period is much more regular.
