I've been using Desonide 0.05% Gel for a few weeks now to manage my eczema, and it's been a game-changer in terms of reducing redness and itching. However, I've been a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the more severe ones like allergic reactions or signs of high blood sugar. I've been vigilant about checking for any unusual symptoms, but I'm curious if anyone else has had experiences with this medication. What should I do if I start noticing some of the less severe side effects, like dry skin or burning? Should I stop using it immediately or give it some time to see if my skin adjusts? I'd love to hear from others who have used this gel and any tips they might have for managing side effects.

Side note, but make sure you're not using it in sensitive areas unless your doctor says it's okay. I made that mistake once and it was not pleasant.

I was really worried about the side effects too, but I haven't noticed anything severe. Just a bit of stinging when I first applied it, but that went away after a few days. I think it's important to monitor yourself closely, especially in the first few weeks. Consult your doctor regularly, and if you see any worrying signs, don't hesitate to reach out.

The best part is that it's not greasy like some other creams. Plus, it smells way better! It helps me deal with the itchiness quickly.

I've used Desonide for years and never had any issues. Just make sure to follow the instructions and don't overuse it. My dermatologist said it's generally very safe if used as directed.

I started noticing some dryness after a week. My doctor said it could be from the gel, but it could also be from the eczema itself. The gel actually helped my skin heal faster, but I noticed some discoloration in the treated area. I’m avoiding direct sunlight on the affected area and it seems to be improving. Plus, it helps me sleep better at night, which is a huge plus! My only advice would be to keep an eye on how your skin reacts and consult your doctor if anything seems off.

Desonide or prescription hydrocortisone cream?

What's the difference between the gel and the cream? I've only used the cream before.
