I've been using Desoximetasone 0.25% Ointment for my psoriasis for about three months now, and I've had a mix of good and bad experiences. At first, it did wonders for the redness and itching, but I started noticing some side effects after a couple of weeks. My skin around the application site got quite dry and irritated, and I even developed a bit of acne. I've heard that these are common side effects, so I'm not too worried, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any tips to mitigate it? I've also seen some mentions online about more severe side effects, so I'm curious about others' experiences with those.

I've used Desoximetasone for eczema and didn't have any major issues, but I did notice some thinning of the skin after a few weeks. It's important to use it sparingly and only as directed.

I think some of the side effects mentioned are a bit overblown. I've been using it on and off for years with no real problems.

I wonder if the concentration makes a difference. I've only used the 0.05% version and never had any issues.

Be careful with this stuff. I used it for a little too long and ended up with some pretty severe Cushing syndrome symptoms. It's a powerful drug, and you should definitely discuss any concerns with your doctor.

I'm actually looking for some suggestions on how to handle some pretty severe irritation at the application site. It feels like my skin is burning off. Does anyone else have ideas on what to do about this?

I had a similar experience with the dryness and irritation. I found that using a gentle moisturizer helped a lot. Just make sure to apply it a few hours after you've used the ointment, since applying too soon can dilute the steroid.

Definitely agree with being careful. I've had some bad experiences with topical steroids in the past, and this is the only one that works for me. I'm cautious about using it, but it's worth it for me to manage my psoriasis.

This stuff is potent, and you have to be careful with it. I've seen people who get these side effects because they use it too much. If you notice something wrong, talk to your doctor. My physician switched me to another medication.
