Hi everyone, I recently started chemotherapy and my doctor prescribed Dexrazoxane 250mg Inj to protect my heart from damage. I had an extravasation last week, and while the Dexrazoxane was given, I am still experiencing some pain and irritation at the injection site. I've read that hair loss can occur, but I haven't heard about anyone else experiencing this. Has anyone else gone through this? I want to know how others are managing the side effects. Even though I understand the benefits, I'm still a bit worried about the potential serious side effects. Have any of you experienced any of the severe symptoms listed? How did you handle them? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I'm glad you're looking out for possible serious side effects, but remember that the serious ones are rare. Just keep an eye on things and don't hesitate to call your doctor if you notice anything worrying.

I've had no major issues and felt lucky. But I was really freaked out by how bad the injection site looked for a few days. The swelling and pain were intense, but it slowly faded away.

My oncologist warned me about the bleeding issues. I had to be really careful with sharp objects and even brushing my teeth could be tricky. Take it easy on yourself and listen to your body.

Dexrazoxane has been a lifesaver for me. I was really worried about heart damage from the doxorubicin, but so far, my heart function tests have been stable. Just be sure to communicate any concerns with your doctor.

I had a bad allergic reaction to Dexrazoxane. I got a pretty nasty rash and had to stop treatment immediately. Be sure to watch out for any signs of an allergic reaction, especially within the first few doses. It's scary stuff.
