I was just prescribed Diabeta 5mg Tablets for my type 2 diabetes. My doctor said it would help lower my blood sugar, but I'm worried about the side effects I've read about. I'm taking other diabetes medications as well. Has anyone else had experience with this? I'm really concerned about the rare but serious side effects. If I experience low blood sugar, what should I do? How can I manage these side effects effectively?

I noticed muscle and joint pain when I first started taking Diabeta. It was pretty intense, but my doctor adjusted the dosage and it went away. If you experience this, talk to your doctor about adjusting your medication.

Low blood sugar is scary. Make sure you have glucose tablets on hand. That way, if you feel dizzy or shaky, you can quickly raise your blood sugar. Also, tell people close to you what to do if you pass out.

Some people have had serious allergic reactions to this medication, so be cautious and if you notice hives or trouble breathing go straight to the ER.

Has anyone else noticed changes in their vision while taking Diabeta? I'm worried about my eyesight, and I'm not sure if it's the medication or something else.

I've been on Diabeta for a while. The main side effect I've had is feeling full and a bit of heartburn, but it’s manageable. Just make sure to take it with your first meal of the day!

REALLY annoying side effect: I’ve been feeling really full all the time. It’s like I can’t eat more than a few bites. Anyone else have this issue?

I had this weird allergic reaction, my skin got really itchy and I had trouble breathing. I called and my doctor told me to stop taking it right away and call 911.

You'll be fine! I've been on this for years and it's super effective for me. Just make sure to keep tabs on your blood sugar and you'll be golden.
