For the bad taste, try chewing gum or brushing your teeth after taking the pill. It helps a lot.
I’ve always wondered why these are necessary if you can't even get a decent taste from them. But I guess the body needs what it needs.

I wish they made these taste better. I can't stand the bad taste in the mouth. Otherwise, no issues.
