I was recently prescribed Diazepam 2.5mg Rectal Gel (2 Pack) for managing clusters of seizures, and I have to say, the idea of a rectal administration was a bit daunting at first. However, the medication has been effective in stopping the seizures quickly. I've been trying to get used to the fact that it's given rectally. I've been mostly stable with no major side effects, but the possible side effects seem daunting. I'd like to hear from others who have used this. Has anyone else experienced any of the potential severe side effects? I'm particularly anxious about the possibility of allergic reactions or changes in mood or behavior.

I had a really bad experience with this medication. I started feeling extremely confused and had some hallucinations. It was terrifying. I had to stop using it and switch to something else. Be very careful and monitor your symptoms closely.

I just want to say, don't let the rectal administration scare you. It's not as bad as it sounds. My seizures have been so much more manageable since I started using this.

Just remember, everyone's experience is different. What works for one person might not work for another. Stay in close contact with your doctor and report any side effects.

I've had some severe dizziness and passing out. It's definitely something to be aware of. I'll be talking to my doctor about it.

My experience has been positive overall. It's easier to manage than some other seizure medications I've tried. But the side effects… you better take them seriously! I've had headaches, but I manage with over-the-counter medicine. Always talk to your doctor.

Do you guys know if there are any alternatives to this that work just as well but with fewer side effects? I'm really struggling with the dizziness.

Side effects are a valid concern, but for me, the benefits outweigh the risks. I had a bit of muscle weakness at first, but it went away over time.

Be really careful with this stuff. I've seen someone have a severe reaction to it. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, like rash or trouble breathing, get to a doctor immediately.

I've been using Diazepam rectal gel for a few months now, and it's been a lifesaver for managing my seizures. The side effects have been minimal so far, just a bit of dizziness occasionally, but nothing too severe.

I've been on this for a while and honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. It's certainly done the job in stopping seizures, but the idea of giving it rectally is a bit embarrassing. I recommend to anyone who is prescribed to make sure you do it in private.
