I was recently prescribed Dicloxacillin 250mg Capsules for a stubborn staph infection. I've been taking them for a week now, and while they seem to be working, I'm nervous about the potential side effects. I've read about some serious ones like severe allergic reactions and C. diff-associated diarrhea. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience like? Any tips on managing side effects or recognizing when something serious is happening? I want to be prepared but I don't want to scare myself either. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Just curious, how long are you supposed to take it for? I had to take it for 10 days and it felt like an eternity. Happily never had to take it again.

Be careful with the diarrhea part. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital because of C. diff. If you get severe diarrhea, go to the ER right away. Don't mess around with that stuff.

If you experience severe dizziness or fainting, make sure to sit or lie down immediately. Let your doctor know right away. Safety first.

Dicloxacillin can be tough on your stomach. I found that taking it with food helped a lot. Also, probiotics can be helpful in preventing some of the gastrointestinal side effects. Definitely worth a shot if you're having issues.

I've never taken Dicloxacillin, but I had a bad experience with amoxicillin. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, like hives or swelling of the face, get to the hospital immediately. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I had a really bad case of black, hairy tongue when I took this. It was gross, but thankfully it went away after I stopped taking the medication. Just something to keep an eye out for.
