I've been prescribed Zyloprim 300mg tablets to manage my gout, but I'm really worried about the side effects. Has anyone else had bad reactions or know someone who has? I'm particularly scared to experience symptoms of Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) or toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). Any advice on how to manage potential side effects? Is this medication worth it? Also, is it normal to feel drowsy or experience diarrhea often?

I had a friend who had to stop taking allopurinol because he had a bad reaction. By this time, his joints were wrecked, and he had to find alternative treatments. I know it's serious business, but you can't go wrong with talking to your doctor about your concerns.

This medication really sucks if it's not working for you at the moment.

It's worth pointing out that most people don't have issues, but the side effects can be serious. I recommend keeping a close eye on any changes in your body and report them to your doctor immediately if you feel something isn't right. It's the best way to stay safe.

I had some pretty severe reactions to Zyloprim, including hives, which was no joke. I have to use a different medication now. It changed my life for the worse. If the symptoms you experience are bad, do not hesitate to seek medical attention. There are alternatives but you need to see a specialist to determine it.
