I was just prescribed Diltiazem CD 240mg Capsules for managing my high blood pressure and angina. From what the doctor said, this medication works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing down the heart rate. However, I am a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones like allergic reactions and liver problems. Has anyone else had experience with this drug? How well did it work for you? Are there any specific tips you can share to mitigate these side effects?

I switched to Diltiazem because my previous meds weren't working well. It helped lower my blood pressure and reduced my chest pain significantly. Just be mindful of the side effects and stay in touch with your doctor. You can also report side effects directly to the FDA if you're concerned.

I don't have personal experience with this, but from what I've read, it seems like it's quite effective for controlling heart rate and blood pressure. But everyone's body reacts differently, so it's important to consult your doctor regularly.

Be careful with this one. I had a friend who had a severe skin reaction after taking Diltiazem. It was scary. Make sure to be vigilant and report any strange symptoms to your doctor immediately.

Make sure you don't skip any doses, it's really important to keep your blood pressure under control.

I went through a bunch of different meds before settling on Diltiazem. It’s been the best for my situation overall. But yeah, the side effects can be scary, especially if you’ve had any issues before. I highly recommend regular blood tests.

I never experienced any liver issues, but I do get a headache occasionally. Have you tried taking it with food? It's not guaranteed to help, but I find it makes the headaches less frequent.

I've been on Diltiazem for a while now, and it's been a game-changer for my angina. I had some dizziness at first but that went away after a few weeks. Just make sure to take it at the same time every day and stay hydrated!

Just remember, if you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, do not wait! Go to the ER immediately. Better safe than sorry.

I read about the liver problems too, and it freaked me out. But I had a conversation with my doctor, and they assured me that liver issues are super rare. I also make it a point to get regular check-ups to monitor everything.

This thread is making me nervous, aren't there any other medications that work just as well but with fewer side effects?
